Computer won't get any further than 'Your computer did not shut down successfully'.

Hi All,

Basically a computer of mine which doesn't get a great deal of use (but has worked fine up untill this morning) I turned it on and it brings up the 'Your computer did not shut down successfully... etc etc' screen with the options to boot in safe mode, last good known config, start normally etc... but I've tried all of these options and the system simply restarts and goes straight to this screen... any ideas/tips?

Many Thanks

Did you let it finish correcting itself, and you say you did restore to earlier date?
