Computer restarts at starting screen?

Hi, my name is Anson Wong, I am a 11 year old boy in california.

My other computer kinda broke because whenever i go up to the startup screen, i typed in my password, and when i pressed the green arrow, The computer restarts!!

I've been trying to fix this for hours, I was wondering if you guys could help me!

On that computer i recently got a Redhound virus too. So I think thats why it happened but i dont know!!

So please help me!!

Reboot and repeatedly press the F8 key to enter the alternate boot screen, Select Safe Mode with Networking, Boot into the XP instance it shows on screen, select your user name from the welcome screen, try to log on, if it works, update your Antivirus software and perform a full system scan and download Malwarebytes and Spybut S&D, update and perform a full system scan with these as well. Then if you have an original XP operating system disk (NOT a recovery disk) insert it into the CD drive and restart the computer after all the scanning and removal is completed. If you have an option to choose boot device, press the appropriate key to show the list of available boot devices and select your CD drive where the XP disk is at, follow the onscreen prompt to boot from CD and then run the recovery console - Using the Recovery Console - Helljack6.com
