Audio and windows movie maker

I have a video that already has music playing on it. However I wish to remove the song from that video and add the song that I want to it. I can get my song on there but the other song keeps playing along with it. How do I get it fixed?

So you want to split the audio from the video and add new audio to the video?

Yes. I do not want the song that they have playing on the video. I want my song to play on it. I can't find how to do it.

Do you want to remove ALL audio from the video? I mean is there other sounds besides the song?

I do not want any of their music at all period to be playing on the video. I only want the music that I plan to add to it to be playing.

Taken from : Removing Audio from Video

You can open your AVI e.g by virtualdubmod and make selection for video "direct stream copy". You can disable unwanted audio in Stream/Stream_list by clicking "disable" button for unwanted one. Then you can save that with another name.

If you are having more problems take a look at the thread I posted it might help.

After you remove the audio just open the video again and add your music in there. You earlier said you knew how to do that so I won't go into that part.

hy nymph, i use nero recode essentials to split/merge/remove/add audio or video files.

i dont have the link unfortunately.

i have found this a great tool, except for my current conundrum which has to do with DVD audio playback problems.

Maybe you could help me out there?

good luck

Hey guys I got it all figured out on the video thing for the windows movie maker. you have to turn the original sound for the video down on it. It wasn't working for me at that time, but I tried again and it did.
