Cleanup unavailable server from active directory
Hi Guys... I have a server that's unavailable (server2) and cannot join any other domains on my forest server DC ( server1) I keep getting an FSMO role error ID 2087 & tried using the ntdsutil to remove the metadata but its unavailable and (server1) cannot establish a connection to it in order to allow me to remove it... I deleted it from domain controllers OU and it won't allow deleting from active directory domains & trusts,

This won't allow me to add new domains to the existing domain ( server1), the cleanup metadata documentation online doesn't really do much of a help.. any suggestions ?

Did you check the internal temperature?

*Temperature protection built into server class computers shuts down the domain controllers when internal temperatures reach manufacturer limits.*

Try doing some diagnostics and see if everything is okay.If you still have problems try contacting the manufacturer or online Microsoft help.Good Luck!

Hi jeje409, yes mate the temperature is still OK ! I checked online for a solution but didn't succeed on it because the other DC is unavailable... using the ntdsutil.exe commands ! Anyway the DC (server1) still functions well doesn't heat or shutdown,
