CPU Load 100%

Hey there,

Lately my pc has been running at 100% CPU Load constently. It is the 'System' process that is taking up the load. I tracked it down to the driver ACPI.sys, using process explorer.

OS Windows XP Pro
CPU P4 2.8Ghz

Can anyone think of a way I can fix this problem?

Thank you

Danny

Yer i did do that it was my first thing to do. Its still 100% load in safe mode. I also noticed that my motherboard says my CPU is 90C all the time. I think that is a bit broken otherwise i would have a fire. I bought a new motherboard and its arriving this morning i'll see if hat fixes the problem, lets hope so anyways.
