Will drinking castor oil make me lose weight?
I need to lose a lot of weight quickly ,

Don't answer if your just going to say "its unhealthy" or "you will just put it straight back on"

If I drank around half a cup of castor oil a day would I lose weight?
    And would it be rapid?

    Thanks

If you are hoping that this will clear out your bowels, making way for weight loss, I don't think so. All you will be doing is emptying your lower bowel more often then you would like. In fact, you couldn't control you bowel movements after a while, making for some embarrassing moments !

What the heck do you expect us to say. Of course we are going to say its unhealthy.

No castor oil is not going to help you lose weight rapidly.

Try daily exercise and a proper diet - it's a foolproof weight loss plan.

You might lose a little weight from the diarrhea you would likely experience. You may just end up spending a good deal of time with bad cramps or it may not have much effect on you at all.
Short of surgery, there is no way to lose a lot of weight quickly.

Overdosing on castor oil, or other laxitives, may end you up in the hospital.

So, just in case you decide to do this, here is an article which has emergency numbers you may wish to keep handy.

Oh that's gross. LOL Hey, how about brushing your teeth instead?? That will suppress your appetite because eating right after makes all food taste bad.

Actually castor oil also works in the small intestines unlike some other laxatives. I'm not sure how much weight you could lose taking it, but if food is rushed through the body then less calories and also nutrients can be lost. I have lost weight by abussing laxatives before but I wouldn't recommend it.

Might as well take a daily dose of ex-lax or contract malaria... sure, it'll help you lose weight... is it a good idea? Not at all.

Bad idea. I took it to induce labor with my children and the cramps and pain was terrible. Keep in mind that the quicker you lose weight the quicker you gain it back. Blah blah blah, I know you didn't want to hear that... but I had to say it.

My trainer actually told me to use castor oil to cleanse out the bowels once every like 3 to 6 months. If you do it more often it can be very bad and too much can actually kill you. But once every three to six months is fine if you do it responsiblilty and do not use too much.
