Wanting to lose weight but stay healthy

I am getting married in April and I need to lose at least 20 pounds: not only for the wedding but for other reason as well. I have tried everything that I know and it either did not work or I got sick from it. How can I lose weight and actually lose it and stay healthy and not get sick?

Here's a good website you might want to check out:

Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate

You can enter your weight, height, how much you want to lose per weeks, and it tells you how many calories you need to eat to accomplish that. It monitors sodium, protein, carbs, etc. so that you know if you're getting the daily value of each for your height and weight.

There's a paid option, but for your purposes, I think the free membership would suffice.

Hope that helps!

Cut back on eating but not drastically. Change not only the amount you eat but what you eat as well. Aim for a daily calorie intake that's about 9 times your current weight. Eat mostly fruits, vegetables and lean meats. Limit sweets and carbohydrates. Drink mostly water and fruit juices ; limit milk, soda and alcohol. Set aside 30 min, each day for light-to-moderate exercise ; walking, light running, bicycling, etc.

losing 20 lbs in 4 months is a bit high on the goal, but it is NOT unattainable, if you do it right.

stay away from sodas, candy, chips, etc.

substitute vegetables/fruits in place of snacks such as wings, crackers, etc.

i wouldn't advise counting calories as that usually drives people crazy...but do watch what you eat. eat small portions very often, and exercise moderately.
