    About how many pounds can you loose
    If your on a liquid diet how many pounds will you loose I heard that you can loose up to 17 pounds in a week is that true! My friend tried it and she lost 17 pounds!

    You can lose quite a bit of weight, but understand that it is very dangerous and should ONLY be done under a doctor's supervision.

    Most of the liquid diets that were tested where I work consisited of very low caloric intakes, @ 400-800 calories per day. Usually the products were a high protein shake instead of meals, so the body basically directly starts to burn the already digested fat, most of the products I checked contained protein, carbs, fat and mineral supplements, they produced a reduction in blood lipids, blood sugar and blood pressure, so that was the plus in our tests, Unfortunately in this same study 95% of the people who lost the weight in these diets drinks gained all the weight back, rather quickly. So unless they had really changed their bad eating habits, and exercised they were right back to where they started. I myself don't think it's healthy to have only 440-800 calories per day, I have used 1000 calories as the lowest to be totally sure your getting the proper nutrients for all your organs and general well being. Like J-9 says, you truly need to go by a Doctors formula, in order to get the proper nutrients and take it slowly, it is much safer and your more likely to keep the weight off, with exercise. There is no miracle diets, pills, drinks, you need to eat the right foods, cut out fats and sugars, and exercise, this is the tried and true secret to dieting success!
