Ritalin does suppress your appetite, but should not be used as a means for weight loss.

Ritalin is methylphenidate, it is a stimulant related to amphetamines. It does cause a appetite suppression, however it can also cause many serious side effects especially when abused. These include heart palpitations, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure. Rarer but serious complications include psychosis, stroke ad seizures.

These are not even all of the side effects. It is addictive and you can reach a tolerance.

Amphetamine-type drugs have been extensively studied as possible weight loss pills. There are good reasons why they are not commonly available, due to the cardiac complications and their lack of long term weight loss benefits.

If you are worried about your weight please see a doctor/nutritionist and loss weight in a steady controlled manner though diet and exercise. That is pretty much the only safe and effective way to do it.
