um, ive never heard of it, but as soon as i saw "potato" i doubt it works.. cuz potatoes are totally starch, which is like instant sugar/energy. and if that energy isnt used fast, it turns into fat. and we girls all know where it tends to go ...
i think the best diet u can do is the veg soup diet, an not only tha u can eat as much as u want so u dnt need to eat certain times, and drink plenty of water.....
and also ive head the beetroot diet is meant to be good aswel. but ive never had it lol
No diet that cuts most foods out is good for your body, In order for our body and organs to work to their fullest potiential we need a full blending of most food groups, The best diet is one that if rich in whole grains, fruits, veggies and lean meats. Low fat milk products, yogurts, if the product says low fat it'll help. cut out or down on sugar products and colas, cut down all salts and processed meats. Cut out fired foods, fast foods eat lots of chicken, fish and nuts. Use olive oils and butter substitutes, Drink lots of water and exercise. Most fad diets will give you temporary results but they won't last and your body suffer in the long run.
i have heard about the potato diet and want to know if it is safe to do?
The potato diet that I studied was eating nothing but potatoes for 2-4 days, cooked any way except fried, using only water or herbal teas, they also advised no sternous exercise, why because you are weak. Although potatoes are great, a med potato, like 5.2 oz only has 138 calories, carbs 31.3 grams, and the protien is @ 3.7 grams, the truth is your body needs a fully rounded diet to sustain your vital organs. This diet seemed very severe in my studies. If your trying to lose weight, it's best to take it the right way, a semi starvation diet will give you quick results, maybe but 95% of the people who go this route, generally gain all their weight back, quickly. Rapid weight loss comes from the large percentage of weight loss coming from fluid losses which are easily regained. Fluid is simply loss from cells as the body burns off the remaining stores of carbs in muscles (glycogen) and then starts to metabolize muscle protein to supply the bodys energy's needs. Which is why they don't want you to do strenous exercise. The end reult will be pounds of weight loss but only a few ounces of body fat burned. Slower weight loss should produce a permanently low fat percentage over time. Eat natural, low fat, sugar, low calorie foods in samller servings, eat lots of fruits, veggies, wheat grain products instead of white flour, low fat dairy, stay away from ice cream. Use olive oil or canola oils to bake or broil your lean meats, chicken without skin, or fish. Stack your sandwiches with tons of lettuce, sprouts tomatoes, etc and use low fat, low calorie dressing. Mostly cut out fast foods, sugar, cakes, cookies, salty treats like chips, even baked chips are loaded with calories and have no nutritional value. use yogurts and put fruit in. Cut out candy, colas and any drinks or products with high fructose corn syrup in it, too many calories. Eat lentils, legumes, nuts dried fruit for snacking. Really get familiar with nurtritional labels and learn what a 1 serving portion is for their product. For instance if you had a lean piece of steak a portion of it is only 3 ounces, about the size of a deck of cards. There are alot of alternatives but a healthy diet and good exercise workout 30-60 minutes a day 4-5 days a week is the real answer to weight loss that works.
You need more than vegetable soup 3-4 times a day. That is like the old cabbage soup diet or the V-8 Juice soup diet, and the list goes on. Balance and moderation are crucial keys. You need protein, you need vitamins that fresh fruits and vegetables give you, you need dairy, you even need some starch. Talk to your doctor and ask what he/she recommends. But you can make sensible adjustments to your present diet and make a big difference. Just like lovelesspa said.
