You should get a complete physical by your doctor and explain that you want to lose weight and have your doctor recommend a healthy plan for you; that includes meals, snacks, exercise, etc. Drastic weight loss is not a goal for you - for anyone. An ideal weight loss is around 2 lbs a week - more than that is not healthy. Your doctor can make the best recommendations for you - he can set up a meeting for you to visit with a dietician or nutritionist, who can help you plan meals, give you recipes, tips and strategies for the best weight loss for you. Stay away from fad diets and weight loss pills. Those work in the short term but long term is not successful and not healthy for you.
If your eating correctly and this means lots of fruits, veggies, low fat dairy and lean type meats, how about portion sizes? It's really important when your trying to lose weight, smaller portions, or the amount stated on the nutritional lables will help you know what you should be eating, size wise, other wise for meat, it's only about 3 oz, the size of an open palm. If you've cut out junk food, fast food, chips, cakes, and presweetened or soda type drinks, these are all good changes, that you need to stick with. Are you drinking lots of water, it's really important. And Exercise, Soft ball is a great workout, but try for other ways to exercise also, walking, running, jogging or biking? Have you tried aerobics, or weight/resistance training? Proper nutrition and size of meals will help your caloric intake, and coupled with a good overall exercise program of 30-60 minutes per day a couple of days a week should help you even more.
