Effective exercise in the office

Hi I having a problem in losing weight and I have been trying many kind of ways but it last for awhile. Now I really think I need to reduce my weight no matter I'm at home or at my workplace. What is the most effective exercise that can do during working time? Besides going to gym to attend the cardio class, how can I do the cardio at home by myself? If I buy the cardio exercise DVD to follow, is it an effective way to exercise?

Please help. Thank you.

You can do effective exercise in the office by taking say, five minutes each hour, and doing something intense like running stairs, squats or lunges, burpees, jumping jacks, press-ups, dips etc.

Tabata intervals are where you do as many of a particular exercise (let's say bodyweight squats) as possible in 40 seconds, rest for 20 seconds and repeat for five minutes. Sounds easy, but it will wipe you out.

A very easy way to incorporate cardio into your day is to cycle for transport. For anything under 10 miles, cycling is as fast or even faster than car or public transport and gives you a great workout. And you'll do it.

Theresao101 disagrees: I can't do cardio in my workplace. Sorry!

Why did you ask about exercise to do during worktime? If you know you can't do any, you are just wasting your time and mine.

The cardio DVD will work at home. The tough part is getting yourself to do it.

Partners help. Maybe find a neighbor or family member to do it with you.

A possible solution for work is to pack a pair of sneakers and walk your lunch instead of sitting and eating. Take something portable like a sandwich and fruit and get in a brisk walk. Just 15 minutes will make you feel better and give you more energy later in the day.
