colon clensing products

I wanted to know if there are any risks associated with a new supplements I have discovered and am interested in trying, does not require a prescription, nor has it been FDA tested. It is called Colonix (actually I have found several of these "colon cleansing products) they show pictures of what people have passed and they are quite scary....almost looks like portions of their intestines. Thank you so much. C Carrigan

The product article I read states it is plant derived, herbal, and natural. If you went to a herbal specialist who performs colonics, chances are that person does not use FDA approved products in most of their treatments. So you need to read the labels, do your research, do comparisons, then make your decisions. While Colonix look good on paper and those testimonials sound fantastic, it does not mean it is so. Caveat Emptor.

Colonix contains herbal dietary fiber, both diuretic and laxative properties, "some" of it's ingredients, like flaxseed, fennel seed, licorice root ( laxitive), papaya fruit ( aids in digestion), ura ursi leaf, are all healthy ingredients, and it's rich in viatim c, 8 G of fiber. But the ingredients as far as I have seen, are not entirely listed online, there's really been no research posted yet, and there is very little research to back up their claims, If your thinking of using it as a diet aid there's truly no proof ....so far. But I would consider it an option for people who want more fiber in their diet, along with healthy eating habits and exercise. I tend not to recommend anything the FDA hasn't approved because ofthe testing needed to really prove any new product is safe, no matter how healthy the ingredients sound. So it's a personal choice.

Dianne64 agrees: Helpful but uninformed. We wanted to hear from someone who used it themselves. We can all read about it.
