My boyfriend and i are gonna go to the court house and get married. The kicker is that everyone thinks we are too young and they dont want us to go through with it. He is in the army so he will be able to get more money too. My dad currently claims me on his taxes, i am a full time college student under the age of 24. We would like to keep this marriage deal a secret right no, the both of us have enough to deal with as it is without people telling us what we need to do. I will be keeping my name and live with my parents as I am currently to save money. there are no children involved. so my question is, is there anyway to still get married but have nothing change with the taxes. Meaning my dad can still claim me if my boyfriend and i file seperatly? Or is there a way around it, i need to know something.
*** you all can say that im too young but first off you dont know me and secondly i wasnt asking for your opinions on this situation i was asking a question looking for some answers, you dont have room to judge me, you dont know what i go through so please leave your opinions out of this im looking for an answer!
* im not afraid to tell anyone and by me telling you guys that i dont need your opinions on this is not being immature i was asking on the tax thing i do not need your opinions on if you think i should do it or not. If i wanted that i would have asked that but since my question was on the tax information i have every right to tell you i dont need your opinions. You can call me immature all you want because you have no idea who i am or the stuff ive gone through. I do not need to explain myself to you guys, i was just looking for an answer on the tax situtation so if you are not gonna answer my question then please dont answer at all. I have enough people telling me what to do, i wasnt going on here to add to that list. I just need an answer on the tax stuff!
No, you are way to young if you are not old enough to stand up for what you want to do. So this is showing you are not mature enough to even consider being married at this point and time.
But you will have to file married filing seperate and so on. Married is married.
You live with your parents and go to college so they should be able to count you on their taxes since you live with them and they support you. Not sure though.
I really don't see the rush to get married when the guy is in the military if he is going to be overseas. So I tend to agree with everybody about being young right now.
also this will change all of your finical aid if you are getting it also, since your husbands income will be counted toward this, and you will change to married for grants and loans.
If anything, why can you at least wait until you finsh college. You can still save money. So what if he can get more money from the army.
I not sure of you exact age, just know your under 24, but if you want to hide your marriage, your starting off wrong. Many people get marry young but you have to make sure what your getting into.
If you don't want to hear the truth, sorry but your refusal to also listen to what alot of mature older people belive, this is also a sign of not being mature. If you are afraid to tell your parents and to be "marrried" you are not old enough to be married.
