Please do not piggy back your question on other threads. It creates confusion and your question may get lost and not answered. Therefore, I have moved your question to a thread of it's own.

Have you contacted your local health department? They can give vision screenings, however, many are not equipped with an eye doctor to write a script for the glasses should you need them.

If, in fact, you DO need them, contact your local Lyons Club or Salvation Army for assistance.

Move! Next Wednesday is Lenscrafters Home Town day. Get yourself certified as needy by some charitable organization and they will examine you and give you a pair of glasses. This is a once a year one day thing.

The Lions Club will help you get free eyeglasses once you have a prescripton too. I donated my old glasses to them. See if there are any clinics for the uninsured in your area. Or, see if they will let you make payments or have an income-based fee scale.

I wouldn't say the Lyons Club WILL give them free eyeglasses. You don't know their income level. The interviewer for LC is the one that decides if the person in needy enough. And they do a prescription as well.
