Me and my boyfriend are in a bit of a mess, I dont know if anyone will be able to help me.

My boyfriend moved from portugal to the uk about four or five years ago, last march he turned 18 and was told he would need to go to the Portuguese embassy in london to refuse 'national service' (if thats what it is in portgual) about a month before his birthday he lost his wallet with his identity card in which he needed to have as proof of identity, he went with his parents to london anyway to see what he could do and was told he would need to pay a fine after he received his new identity card.

We waited and waited for his card to come through and in the end he rang the embassy and enquired about it and it managed to find that they had it but hadnt sent it yet and he got it the next day with no information about the fine.

We have tried on a number of occasions to get back to them about this fine but we just keep getting passed around. We cant leave it because we are scared if we decide to go to Portugual that he will get stopped at imigration.

Any information or help would be grately appreciated!!!
