Hi. I have been born in bombay and lived here since then. My mum too was born in bombay and has lived here ever since then. my dad was born in porvorim, goa in 1951 and has his name on a Portuguese transit visa and also has his birth certificate and school documents and some other Portuguese travel certificate. we always visit Goa at least twice a year. His parents were born in Goa and their names are on the said portuguese documents. My mum's father was born in Goa and will probably have some documents to prove the same. By virtue of being born in Goa before 1961 my dad would be entitled to apply for a portuguese passport however he is not to keen.

I would like to apply for the portuguese passport and based on the above background I have provided of my family i would like to know if i would be eligible to apply for the same and if yes what would be the necessary documents required. I will be visiting Goa next week and would like to start with the application process so thanks in advance for any suitable information that any of you can provide.
