Israeli citizenship

Shalom:

I am attempting to find out information regarding obtaining Israeli citizenship. I understand about aliyah and the Law of Return. Currently I am in the process of converting to Judaism and understand that the Law will apply to me as well.

I am also aware of the requirement to petition for citizenship and must obtain the letter of acceptance AND set foot on Israeli soil. My question is this: If an Embassy is considered soil of the representative nation, would I fulfill that requirement by going to the Israeli embassy here in the US?

Toda raba.

Labriyut
