is the Wii seperated into PAL and NTSC?

I'm currently living in Canada, but originally I'm from South Africa. Canada operates on NTSC and South Africa on PAL. But is the Wii also divided into two like the Playstation 2 and DVDs? or, if I buy a Wii in South Africa would I be able to buy games in Canada and play them without trouble?
