We need more info about why you can't access the files. What happens when you try?

When my hardrive crashed, we were able to recover most of the files, but some of the files would not open, and that was because they were full of viruses - this being the very reason my hardrive crashed in the first place.

The other thing could be that the computer you are using to upload the files onto has some incompatable software. This happened to me once with excel files. the excel files I had saved were on a new version and the computer I tried to upload them on had an older version of excel and it just would not open. Even when it did open it came up as just figures & letters- all gobbledy gook!!!

You need to either log on as Admin or as those people. you should then be able to copy (not try to open) the files to somewhere on the new drive.

I use zero assumption recovery, it seems to be very easy and does the job you want.
