Adobe 6 Standard - Asking to save file on open

I have Adobe 6 standard. I download a lot of patent forms, etc. from the various Internet sites. Had Adobe 7 but had to convert back to adobe 6 (don't ask!). Now, whenever I click on a pdf to open at a web site I am immediately asked to save the file locally or cancel. Those are my only choices if I want to open the file, regardless of whether I just want to view, print or save.
