The way to Santiago

I need to travel from Liege, Belgium to St Jean Pied de Port in France, I want to buy a train ticket but I cann't figure out the best way. Ay help with what type of train and fare is appreciated. I will be doing a pilgramige to Santiago de Compostela by foot from St Jean Pied de Port and there is no way for me to have an exact day of when I will get to Santiago, so i don't kown my returning date (I will be returning to Belgium) I will be in Europe for exactly two months. If anyone can help me I will really appreciate any help.
I need to stay in a budget.
