where is regulator on 16.5 hp engine lawn tractor

I've already swapped out the solenoid. No luck. Battery is good. I "think" I checked all the ground connections and safty switches. Problem is when the key is turned on the engine turns once...then slows to a stop...it may go over again..but it won't go long or fast enough to...

I have a craftsman lawn tractor 10hp model 917.254220. The engine is a Tecumseh tvm220-157106h. The engine is seized up. Can anyone tell me the best option for a engine replacement. I can't find another tvm220-157106h. Thanks Jim

I can get a Craftsman 2001 LT 1000 tractor with no engine and I have a 1998 (I think)Craftsman 14 1/2 hp OHV I/C Gold tractor with a bad trans. Can I put the 1998 engine into the 2001 tractor? Thanks
