Yes, use 2 cycle oil. Make sure you mix it to the right ratio.

    Hi,
Quality name-brand oils are always recommended and the ratio will depend on the particular blend. Most are blended for 40:1 or 50:1, though there may still be a few 32:1 blends out there. Nowadays they are usually sold in bottles that contain enough oil for a certain amount of gas, e.g. 1 gallon, 2 1/2 gallons, etc.
Simply pick the name brand you want i.e. Toro (which ic Lawn-Boy), Stihl, Echo, Husqvarna, etc. and the package size appropriate for you fuel container.
    Peace,

Hi! Sharimiller, welcome to AMHD :)

2-cycle engines built before 1990 used a 32:1 ratio, after 1990 it went to 50:1.

Have you looked at the fuel tank cap?
After a certain year the manufacturer's molded the ratio #'s into the cap, there may also be a decal on your unit that will state the ratio.

This will tell you where to look, click on Snowthrower at bottom left: Toro Locate Model and Serial Number

If the ratio is not on the label, write down the Model, and Serial #'s, and go here to download a manual from the Toro site :
    Toro Product Information Center

This shows how to mix a 50:1 ratio:

Those old SnowMaster 20's use a 32:1 ratio. Use whatever oil they have at the hardware store. It'll run forever... It already has. I have one. It will eat whatever crap you pour into it and say "thank you".

Remember... I AM talking about 2 cycle oil. It just needs to be any 2 cycle oil. The junk I use is for boat motors.
