I just found a great resource on-line to find service manuals for Snappers DataBase Research It is very thorough in how to check the differing possible causes of a mower that will not pull. Hope someone else can benefit from the website.

I made the usual error, I left gas in my mower over the winter. Then thinking I knew what I was doing I drained the old gas and refilled with fresh gas. My rear riding snapper mower pull is not working. The string comes all the way out and does not retract. I have taken the top off and using the same spring tried to put back together properly. It seems as though there is no tension to pull the string back in. Please help me to get the tension back!
