Noma snowblower 8hp electric starter works but will not turn the flywheel
I have a noma 8hp snowblower... I replaced the starter today because I thought the old one didn't work anymore. I put the new one in and it did the same thing as the old one. I plug it in and press the button and the starter turns but it sounds like its grinding... there's only one place the starter can go and there is no play in it. I just will not turn the flywheel... I need help

Check the plastic gear on the starter and see if the teeth are chewed up.

Thae starter is brand new. I just bought it today... I noticed the flywheel teeth are a little worn but I touched the starter gear to the flywheel teeth and it seemed to connect good and it would turn fine by hand but as soon as you pressed the button it won't connect

Check and make sure the back of the starter isn't moving when engaged

OK I will do that... and if it is moving what does that mean? Cause I had it bolted down and I could not move it at all.

Does this have a 110 starter or a DC one .
Could be the flywheel teeth are worn too much.
Engage with cover off and see if starter is coming high enough ,
