Mtd lawn tractor will not start after replacing belts

Replaced all the belts on mtd lawn tractor and now it will not crank. Checked the batery and it seems to be ok but it does not seem like any power is going to starter. Engine will not even turn over. There are some safty swithches and all have been reconected but engine will not even turn.
