MTD 13AN77KG011 steering shaft

Asked Aug 4, 2012, 07:43 AM — 3 Answers
I got the same model and problem. Model # 13AN77KG011

Were you able to get the shaft out? My 'Bearing, Flange, Hex 5/8' Part # 741-04124 appears to be a big Phillips head screw. Breaks left I assume. Tight. Going to have fun with that.

Also, please tell me a wheel-puller is not required to get a steering wheel off of a riding lawnmower.

Goal= replace shaft. Part #738-0919A

Hi,
Firstly I broke your post free of a three year old thread. I will post a picture of your steering. The bearing #15 is indeed the number you say. The rest of the steering is #4 which is a 5/16-18 x3/4" bolt(1/2" wrench or socket) and #18 washer.

I have the same picture and missed those parts under the frame for some reason. Thanks.

I removed 3 & 11 but that steering wheel is on there! My new shaft should be here tomorrow and we'll see how this goes. Thanks again.
