is there a way to tighten up the belt on a craftsman 42 inch mower deck or a diagram to show which is the belt tensioner any help will be useful thank you very much palacios46

Check for freeness in the moving parts. also some models have adjustments at the front of the deck on the bolts, or rods that attach the front part of the deck to the unit.

I have a 2004 craftsman Lt 1000 42" inch cut rider,and when the blade would not engage anymore,seems to me I looked for an adjustment somewhere but did not find one, can't remember. I bought a new belt on e-bay and it done the trick,maybe I was just lucky,there may be an adjustor on it,but this worked for me. Good luck!
