The above address will link you to Poulan, who recently changed their manual search function much for the worst. I have not done a successful search on models I know to be correct. Yours didnot either.
Try the OwnerIQ: Product user manuals, help, forums tips and tutorials. site, choose Lawn & Garden, choose either Poulan or WeedEater (there are two choices for the latter that are both informational), choose Lawn Mowers and look for your model.
Depending on what info you need, you may be able to settle for a close substitute. The model designation breaks down as: WE = WeedEater, 17 = engine horsepower, H = hydrostatic drive and 42 = 42" deck.
