Locking out the Varidrive

Hi, I've got a belt driven Garden tractor ( Sears 1978 GT/11 Varidrive ) The Varidrive is a double pulley with a floating center sheeve between the belt from the motor/clutch and the belt to the gearbox. ideally, when operational, it would let you adjust the drive ratio up or down from 1:1 in each of the 3 gears.

I can't get the @#$%^^&&* thing to work properly with the adjustments that I can find. The belts always seem too loose.

My question is somewhat split. If anyone knows how to get these things adjusted and working properly that would be my preferable solution, and thus the primary question.

If that's not possible I'm looking for an easy way to go about locking out such a part of the system so that I have full power and no loose belts

it has three gears so I should still have a pretty good amount of flexibility without the Varidrive working.

Any suggestions would be great.

thanks

Sorry I don't use this language. This does not belong on this forum.

PBILLOCK disagrees: What you are referring to as 'language' is just a bunch of symbols. If you are insinuating that it is vulgar language then that vulgar language is all in your head. Rule 5 says nothing about symbols.
