John deere Lt 160 will not run long

My john Deere Lt 160 started running like it was out of fuel, checked and tank was almost full, noticed the fuel filter was empty, the mawer sat awhile and crankedbut only ran long enough to burn the gas that is in the fuel filter then it quit, I've replaced the cracked fuel line but still have the same problem

Hi,
I think it hilarious that the Google ad for Fireston at the bottom of your post was titled "Fuel Pump" and that is your problem.
