How to Replace Lawn Edger Starter Cord?
The starter cord on my "Yard Machines" Model 510 Lawn Edger broke. There is no cord or attachment visible under the finger guard. The finger guard is rivoted to engine body and I can't get to or even see where the cord attaches. It has a Briggs & Stratton Model 98902 engine. Neither of the operating manuals I have includes any explanation on how to replace the cord. Can anyone help me out? Step-by-Step instructions, with illustrations would be outstanding!

    Thanks!

If you go to "Tools & Garden Equipment" on the top left of this page, you'll notice some stickies. One adresses replacing the cord.

Briggs and Stratton has diagrams on their website.

If you drop the recoil gizmo off at a local lawn mower shop, they can do it for probably $15.00
