    Have a john deere L100 no start
    John deere L100,NO START,took off starterand had it checked and its fine. I HAVE 12 VOLTS AT THE BATTERYand 12 volts going into the senolid but no volt coming out of the other side of the senolid and no volts at the starter.CAN I jump the starter senolid like the old FORDS or will it short the starter system out.

    Hi! tom aceves, welcome to AMHD :)

    You can, but it's difficult to do, and not safe. Sounds like you just have a bad solenoid or a blown fusible link

    Go here for possible reasons:manuals.deere.com LT100

    Scroll down left side menu, almost to bottom to troubleshooting. Click on electrical, see result to right.

    Save manual for later reference :)

    Hi.
    Deere's commonly use a two circuit path. The trigger for the solenoid gets 12 V and there is a ground that must be viable to complete the circuit. This can be checked with jumpers to trigger the solenoid to check the high current circuit that goes from the battery to the starter.
