    Craftsman snowblower augers turn slow
Hey guys, anybody know why the augers in my 9 horse craftsmen blower won't turn so well. It is about 8 years old (workhorse) and I have had problems shearing pins although they are currently intact. It would blow the light snow 4" in the main drive but at the end where the plow dumps, it would just push snow and not throw it. I tried to hold the drive and look to see if the augers were turning but my arms aren't long enough:p I was able to finish the drive but I don't know if there are belts that need replacing (still on original belts) or is it another shear that is not readily visible. Looks like a lot of work to dig into it for belts and after all these years my manual seems to be missing. Can you help me troubleshoot or point me somewhere else?

    Thanks

I would suspect the belts are stretched. Is there an adjustment to the engagement lever linkage/cable? I am only speculating as we do not use snowblowers here.

Thanks, I will try and see where the adjustment is made. I replace two belts this weekend that didn't seem to help.

    I had a similar problem.
Result was a defective auger pulley bearing needed to be replaced.
