Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower Electrical Current
When I swiched the starter on, the riding mower wouldn't start.
I didn't think that there were sparks to the plugs.
I removed the end connections on each plug, took a screw driver so that there was a gap for the sparks to jump, and while my wife attempted to start the mower, I watched for sparks at the ends of the plugs, one plug at a time of course.
    There were no sparks.
Then while she was trying to start the engine, all of a sudden I saw sparks begin to jump the gap. The motor cranked immediately.

I'm just wondering what the problem was.
Could it be the coil or the fly wheel not producing electrical current, may be due to rust or something, when no sparks were seen?

Not sure with way problem went away, but if it's staring and running now,it must have been minor.

You May Have A Naked Place On The Black Kill Wire Running To Coil And When You Were Working Around The Spark Plug Wires , Caused It To Move And Not Make Contact Against The Engine "killing Your Spark". Remove The Blower Housing(top Of Engine) And Visually Inspect And Repair Wire As Needed. I Think This Is Where You Will Find Your Problem.
