Craftsman Eager-1 push mower

4 Answers Craftsman Eager-1 push mower is cranking, runs for a little then shuts off. What cause this? I have replaced the spark plug. Where do I go from there? |

| I'm going to guess that this is a Briggs engine on this. If so, there is a brass bolt on the bottom of the carb bowl. You need to unscrew this brass bolt, take it out. There will be tiny little holes in this bolt. You need to blow them out and make sure they are not obstructed, then put it back together and you should be good to go. Often, debris get the holes plugged up. The engine will start and die quickly after. Hope this helps and may God bless, Pete | ||||

| I just replaced the carburetor, spark club, and air filter. The mower still quit after a few minutes of running. As it turns out, it was a faulty gas cap that was not venting properly. The faulty gas cap caused a vapor lock, not allowing fuel to flow to the engine. While the engine is sputtering, loosen the gas cap and see if the engine recovers from sputtering. If so, replace the gas cap and the problem will be fixed. | ||||

My mower was having trouble staying running. The guy that gave it to me said that it sat for about four years. He had it worked on by some one and they got it to run but it still wasn't right.After he gave to me I removed the carb, cleaned all the guk out. Now I am ready to remount it. Problem is...
I was mowing and about 1/2 through, the mower died. Would not restart. I waited about 15 minutes and it restarted, but died within 3-5 minutes. Then I couldn't get it to restart at all. I changed the spark plug, check all wires attached, it has gas and oil to correct level. Any suggestions?
I have a 6.25 Craftsman push mower and I filled the gas tank and primed it by pushing the red push button. That's when I noticed gas leaking around the push button primer button. The entire tank leaked out! What can I do?
Our craftsman push mower starts by pull string, then putts out, does not stay idle. The gas and oil are good, also a new spark plug was put in., any suggestions.
