    Changing snow blower belt
Okay, thought I'd try here first.. have a two stage 20" think its an aries.. it's an old model but works.. the only problem is after replacing the two belts, one jumps off when I engage drive.. these are the smaller drive belts.. not sure if anyone has a quick tip before give up on it.

    Hi,
Do not know the model since it was not stated, but Ariens has excellent material online.
    Peace,

Getting the wrong belt is one possibility. You can look up belts on ww.dayco.com. Then use their number and go to a NAPA auto store.

The other reason why belts jump is that the pulleys are out of line or not tensioned properly.

[QUOTE=KeepItSimpleStupid;2140544]Getting the wrong belt is one possibility. You can look up belts on ww.dayco.com. Then use their number and go to a NAPA auto store.

The other reason why belts jump is that the pulleys are out of line or not tensioned properly. >>I contacted ariens tech support and verified model and part # is okay.. I also made sure the pullys were aligned according to the online manual.. I believe it is the tension spring that needs tightening so the tension pully takes more slack on the belts. The belts are the right replacements.. this is a very old model.. not worth dumping more money into it.. I got it working with the one belt.. tomorrow I will try to get more tension and see what happens. Ty ,for replies! I'll check in after the next snowstorm, just ordered tire chains 16 dollars more but it will work better on my sloped driveway! Lol
