Randy, you should start your own post by clicking on ASK about Tools and Power Equipment. When you do this give the brand and model number. Don't be too frustrated, I have never had one that started on the first 2-4 pulls. My current units, 3, are all fairly new and all take about 5-10 pulls.

Hi,
I did the separation for you.
It is important to know what we are answering on (brand and model.)
With EPA regulations for emissions, the ease of starting is often affected, purges did not just appear on machines for no reason; the crankcase vacuum was reduced to reduce scavenging.
Peace,
Clarke
