Blades wont engage in high gear.

I have a 2001 Troybilt tractor, 23hp with a 50" cut. It runs great and blades engage and cut in low gear. However when in high gear the blades disengage. Anybody got any idea on what could be the problem?? Email me please @ [email address]. Thanks

Loose Wire, Probably At The Switch Itself, Or A Broken Wire.
Try This:

With Ignition Key In The "run" Position (do Not Start Engine!!!)

Pull Up On The Engagement Knob, And Listen For A "click"

Do This A Couple Of Times, If You Hear A Click Each Time,
Then The Pto Clutch Is Workable, And You May Be Jarring At High Speed And Loosing Connection.

Check Connection At Blade Engagement Switch, And Inspect The Wires To The Pto Clutch Which Is Located On The Crankshaft Under The Engine.

Good Luck.

I checked all and everything clicking. I chased wires and didnt find anything. Could it be just a bad switch??

No, I Don't Think The Problem Is In The Switch. I Think It Is Still Due To The Extra Vibration Caused From The Increased Speed. Check All Connections Again, And Also, Where Your Seat Safety Switch Is Located, Find The Arm That Activates The Seat Safety Switch As You Set On The Unit. Then, Try And Bend It Closer To The Switch To Where You Make A Better Contact With Seat Safety Switch. I Have Seen This Cause The Problem Before.

Thanks for giving me a starting point but it ended up being the spring switch. This is located on or near the transmission and it is suppose to cut the blades when you shift into reverse but if it isnt adjusted corrected it will make contact in "high range" as well. All I had to do was bend it back enough so that it would make contact in reverse but not in high. WOW!!! I already spent $350 on the PTO clutch and all it was was an adjustment. Oh well, thanks anyway.
