Bad solenoid in lawn tractor?

I was installing a new solenoid in my lawn tractor. The new solenoid posts were bigger than the eyelets in the cable connections. I drilled them out a bit. While tightening the cable connections onto the solenoid the posts in the solenoid began to spin...did I ruin the solenoid?

It didn't work afterwards? I've spun em on some before.... and they would still work.

pgarcia agrees: I was having a hard time getting the nut to screw onto the post while it spun...there wasn't much for me to hold onto to stop post from spinning. But I found out that it should work still...that is if I hadn't ripped it apart to see what was inside.

Thanks Briggs...If you don't see it...(before I got your reply :-( ) I ripped the solenoid apart to see if the fact that the post was spinning would have prevented it from working. Just as you said - it wouldn't...the post is not connected to anything it was just the point where the contact would hit when the solenoid was energized... Live and learn. :-).
