16 hp b&s wont stay running

hi, i have an older simplicity tracotr with a 16 hp briggs and stratton engine. when it starts it runs ok at low throttle or just to put around, when you increase throttle and let off the clutch the engine dies. this also happens when i engage the blades. i throttle up and engage the blades, and as soon as i am fully of the clutch , the engine dies. it also dies if i am driving around low throttle and go to increase throttle on the fly. also it eats gas like crazy and runs very rich. can someone please help?

check your carbourator, clean it out
