16.5 briggs and stratton...murray riding mower 42 inch cut. no compression???

15 Answers i have a 16.5 murray it will turn over but has no compression and is getting fire took the spark plug out and it dosent have any compression...can someone please tell me whats going on...i have never worked on one this is my first mower i bought and it was used dumb yes i know but please help!!!!!!!! |

| I think you threw a rod. Use a wooden dowel rod or something similar and see if you can push that piston down toward the crank. If you can and the engine shaft doesn't move the rod is gone. Was it like this when you bought it or did it run? | ||||
