OK, I've read a lot about young ladies here who feel that they are responsible for what happened to them in the past. That they 'deserved' the abuse they went through.. and that this also influences everything that they search for and experience in their present lives.

Yes, no one deserves to be beat, raped or hurt.

The problem is that too many men have lowered the self esteem though mental and verbal abuse for years, to the point they beleive it is thier fault, it may not be but to them they truely beleive it, and sadly it does not matter if it is true in real life, but if they beleive it strong enough it takes years to work them out of that idea.

And another real problem friends and family of a rape victim don't know what to say, to do and they distant thierself when they person needs them the most.

There are boys who get abused as well. Not many people talk about that. It does happen to men as well.

Speaking of family and friends - there are cases where boys and girls are 'tortured' by those closest to them - the ones that are responsible to ensure a wholesome and healthy life - and those very ones are the culprits.

What suggetion can you give those victims - should they free themselves of those nightmares, get the law and/or authorities involved?

Do any of you know of any organizations in the US or in Canada, or the UK that specialize in helping victims of family abuse.

This is a serious issue in today's society and there are more people involved than we'd really like to believe.
