What is the best way to get into the acting Business?

I am an aspiring actress and would very much like to go some where with it other than just a hobby. Problem is I live in a very small town that has a great Fine Arts Program but no publicity. Another problem I don't know exactly where I am going to be living next year. I would like to have a career in Acting.

Hi, kiwichika!

What sort of experience have you already had with acting, please?

Thanks!

Seriously, you need to go where the jobs are. And that means NY or LA. Then you have go to casting call after casting call and hope for a break.

Two other places to consider are the theme parks and cruise ships. They all put on musical revues and tend to a fairly high turnover of talent.

Hi again, kiwichika!

I know that your question is somewhat dated now, but another avenue to try would be dinner theaters. I have a cousin who makes his entire living acting in dinner theaters around the U.S.

Thanks!
