i have a philips rear projection tv and the top and bottom of screen bows distorting the color and picture. I used to be able to adjust the picture with the remote but it doesn't work now,and was wondering if it needs an an ajustment or a new lamp.

Actually you need to have the TV "converged"> It is an electronic process to realign the way the colors fall on the screen. You will need to cal someone VERY experienced in this process. It is not for the impatient nor inexperienced person to do. I used to do these when rear projections first hit the market in the very late 70's.
