    1. must I plug directly into TV... has no extra input ports?
    2. can I input through the Shaw Digital Receiver?

Model numbers help us a great deal. Also, is there anything else connected to the TV?

If you have no video inputs free on the TV, then you will either need a source selector or an RF modulator (though an RF modulator will not provide the best picture quality).

Before I give any more advise, I will need to know more information.

Hi FadedMaster - Thanks for yr reply
Only connection to TV is Shaw Inyteractive Digital Communication box.
    Shaw digital: Motorola, model DCT6200/1000
    TV: Viewsonic, model VSIO576-IM
    DVD Player: Pioneer, Model DV340

Just so you know, the model is actually VS10576 (10, not IO). I also think that it appears to be the model N2750W (I'm not sure why there appears to be two models for this one).

Anyway, here is the best connections.

    - Motorola Cable Box to Viewsonic TV through component cables (red, green, blue for video then white and red for audio).

    - Pioneer DVD Player to Viewsonic TV through S-Video (mostly round-shaped pin connector for video, then white and red for audio).

You should then be able to use the TV remote to switch between these two devices. There should be either a "source" or "input" button. Pressing that should either cycle through the connections, or bring up a list. It should be pretty straight forward as there is only one of each of the above connections.

If you do not have the above cables, and do not wish to purchase them, please provide us with what cables you do have and I will post back with the best way to connect the components.

Note: You can use any RCA cables for everything except the S-Video. For the component video (red, green, blue) make sure that each of the RCA cables are the same quality. If you use a better quality RCA cable for one of them, the picture will not be as good (can tint the color or distort it).
