I posted this question earlier in the Fantasy thread weeks ago with no luck, so I thought I would try here as well:

I remember very little about the show so bear with me. I remember in one episode (if it was a tv show) or the movie where the main character is at a palace of some kind and is served some fancy futuristic food. Only the food is tasteless to him, I remember the food looking like a red brick or something similar.

I remember another scene where the main character is given lie detector glasses where the lens change colors if someone is lying. The main villain may have had a whip as a weapon but I'm not sure....it was in the sci-fi / fantasy genre. I also seem to remember a scene where the villain drops the main characters girlfriend or sidekick into an evil portal of some kind.

I also vaguely remember some of the action taking place in a rain forest type setting.

I believe the main character used a boomerang as his weapon.

I found it through these links! The show was called Vytor The Starfire Champion, only had 4 episodes, hence why it was so hard to find.
