I think my mom is cheating on my dad. Im thirteen. SO like one night when she was looking over my research paper, I accidentally read one of her emails, because like it was rite in front of me. Ive also heard her talk on the phone him. I also know he lives out of state, I think Ohio. I don't know what to do? I need advice. (hopefully from other adults)

I think you need to tell your mother what you saw,and what you've heard and ask her for an explanation.

It might be perfectly innocent.

Talk to your mother to explain what has been happening. Alternatively if you are sure of what you saw, you can always tell your dad, however that will lead to a big confrontation between the both of them.

I'm with amicon. Talk to your mom about what you've seen and heard. It's no one else's business at this point. She may be totally innocent, so why destroy her reputation by talking with family and friends?

It's true. The last thing you need to do is start a rumor among friends and family. And since nothing is actually substantiated, that is just what it is: a rumor.

I have the same problem right now and I'am scared I don't know what to do. I'am 13 as well and don't want to hurt my mum but it's a shame on my dad. It doesn't say a boys name though it's a girls name the number is under. I was going onto my mums phone next minute she gets a text and its from her, I clicked onto it and it says some scary things, I am afraid help :(

When I was 11 my mother would sometime leave and say she was getting food and say she would be back in 30 minutes but I would be home alone for an hour! After she would usually take me to work with her then she stopped! After that I got suspicious when she was asleep I went through her messages. There was this odd number I never saw on her phone before... The messages were always Hey baby want to come over for an hour? How's your day? And my mom would reply to this guy like he was my dad and they would tell each other they love one another. I panicked not knowing what to do. Sitting up all night crying.. So after I told my dad and I had never seen him really cry before but this time he bawled his eyes out. One day him and my mom just were fighting all night. Then at 3:00 am he came upstairs to me and said that my mom admitted she was cheating and they were getting separated. After a year or so I begged my parents to get back together so they ended up doing so, but when I thought it was all over a few months later my mom was emailing that guy again. It broke my heart. So my parents fought and argued over it again. Then my mom promised to remove all contact from that guy. So my parents worked things out. My advice for you is to tell your mom you know let her know she can't hide anyything from you but don't go through her stuff all the time. It's a very hard thing to go through I know your pain I had anger issues and got so angry over it when my mom was cheating on my dad that I started to hit her. One night she called the police on me and I was sent to juvey over night. So because you don't have the privaledges of an adult... I know it sucks you can't just hop in a car and drive away speak up but don't over do it. You just have to deal with it. I hope this helps I feel your pain and I hope everything works out. Good luck!
