    The age of consent in NYS is 17.

    But to answer the question in your title it is NOT "Ok" for ANYONE to engage in sexual intercourse unless they are financially, emotionally and physically prepared to have a child.

    There are other legal problems as well if the parents don't approve of the relationship.
